]]> http://mountvernonmusic.org/news.html#9 Fri, 22 Jan 2010 00:00:00 -0800 The Power of Great Live Music in Your Community - Mount Vernon Music - News Photography Exhibit http://mountvernonmusic.org/news.html#8 Enjoy some time with our friends in the Franklin County Historical Association, and plan to come to the opening reception for the Rutherford Photography Show in the Firestation Museum, April 16, 2010, 6 to 8 P.M.  The exhibit, featuring Dr. Charles Rutherford's photographs from Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, will last until September 16, 2010.  The museum, located one block south of the Square, sits on the southeast corner of Kaufman and Scott streets.  It is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 A.M. to 4 P.M.

Charles is an orthopedic surgeon in Dallas with a long-standing passion for photography. That fascination for photography began when he was a young boy and his father gave him of a Pentax Spotmatic camera. As an adult, he finds photography to be a respite from his medical practice and a way of returning to nature.

This exhibit is the result of a week-long cycling and hiking trip in Wyoming. He hopes to convey some of the splendor, variety and sheer majesty of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.
